Our Leadership Team

In 2005, Wastren Inc. changed ownership and created a subsidiary, Wastren Advantage, Inc. (WAI). In addition to a new name, a new leadership team for WAI was also announced. The management team has led WAI to success with the award of several federal and private contracts to perform waste management, facility support services, environmental remediation, and consulting services.

Steve Moore – President/CEO
Bio: President and CEO of Wastren Advantage, Inc. since 2005, Steve Moore is a Juris Doctor with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science, and an Associate of Science in Plastic/Chemical Engineering Technology. Prior to his current position he held several senior management positions including being responsible for the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant Site Services and Waste Management contracts. Mr. Moore has over 15 years of combined technical and project management experience in all aspects of environmental management.

Jim Gardner – Executive Vice President
Bio: With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mr. Gardner has over 27 years of business operations and senior project management experience with federal contracts involving all facets of facility support services, logistics support, environmental services, and construction support worldwide for the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense and other government agencies. As WAI’s Executive Vice President, Mr. Gardner directs and coordinates activities of project operations, or sales, or major division of business organization, and aides the Chief Executive Officer in formulating and administering company policies.

Tom Kaupas – Chief Financial Officer
Bio:Tom Kaupas holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance as well as a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance and is a Certified Public Accountant. As Chief Financial Officer for WAI, Mr. Kaupas is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices. Mr. Kaupas has over 18 years of experience in all capacities of government contracting, such as CFO, Controller, Contract Manager, Project Manager, and Consultant.

Doug Collins – Director, PMO
Bio: Mr. Collins has more than 16 years of experience in the areas of project management, project controls, waste management, and decontamination and decommissioning support. In addition to his Bachelor of Science in Natural Science and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) accredited through the Project Management Institute (PMI). Mr. Collins also has site operations experience managing more than 100 technical and administrative staff at DOE’s Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.

Keith Tucker – Vice President, Bus. Dev.
Bio: With a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering Technology, Keith Tucker is a Certified Project Management Professional with over 13 years of business development, project management and consulting experience in the Federal environmental remediation, waste management and decontamination and decommissioning markets.  As WAI’s Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Tucker directs all aspects of capture management, knowledge management, sales, and marketing, and assists the Chief Executive Officer with all corporate Strategic Planning Initiatives.
